Advocate Medical Group-Beverly and Evergreen Park recognized for superior diabetes care
The physicians of Advocate Medical Group-Beverly and Evergreen Park have received the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) Diabetes Recognition, joining an elite group of physicians across the country who share this honor. Advocate Medical Group-Beverly is located at 11250 S. Western Avenue, in Chicago. Advocate Medical Group-Evergreen Park is located at 9730 S. Western Avenue, Suite #500, in Evergreen Park.
NCQA developed the Diabetes Recognition Program to provide clinicians with tools to support the delivery and recognition of consistent high quality care. This voluntary program is designed to recognize physicians and other clinicians, who use evidence-based measures and provide excellent care to their patients with diabetes.
“The NCQA award is a reflection of the high level of performance our physicians are delivering care to patients with diabetes,” said James Dan, M.D., president of physician and ambulatory services, of Advocate Health Care. “The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol of quality, indicating that our physicians exceed evidence-based measures in the safe care and treatment of diabetic patients.”
Almost 24 million Americans suffer with diabetes, but almost one-third of these individuals are unaware that they are living with the disease.
“It is vital to properly diagnose and treat diabetes because it can lead to heart disease, stroke, blindness and kidney failure,” added Dr. Dan.
The Advocate Medical Group – Beverly physicians who were named include the following internal medicine specialists: Necholas Aboughannam, M.D.; Sheela Manaparambil, M.D.; Emerito Natanawan, M.D.; Azra Omerovic, M.D.; and Shantala Sreereama, M.D.
